Verne LiFePO4 batteries: Technology
Verne Power produces lithium iron phosphate batteries for use in campers, boats and off-grid applications. We do so using the latest and best technology available. Our Battery Management System (BMS), the ‘smart heart’ of any LiFePO4 battery, is developed by us in-house and proudly produced in the EU (NL). It collaborates seamlessly with our signature Verne App and Verne Cloud environment. So that you can enjoy worry-free power from our batteries wherever you want.
LiFePO4 batteries
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) is the technology of choice for lithium batteries that are used in campers, boats or off-grid applications. LiFePO4 (or short LFP) is environmentally friendly, lightweight, compact, safe and lasts 10 years longer than traditional AGM, Gel or lead-acid batteries!
Battery Management System (BMS)
Verne’s Battery Management System (BMS) is the smart heart of our batteries. Designed from the ground-up to include vital functionality such as temperature protection (dual sensors), active cell balancing, battery heating and a range of protective measures to keep your battery safe from over charge / discharge, over current and so on. Verne’s BMS communicates with the Verne App using Bluetooth v5.1
Verne Power App
The Verne Power App (for Android and IOS ) seamlessly integrates with our BMS. A unique functionality are its configuration profiles that contain a range of pre-configured settings to optimize the settings for longest battery life, to deliver most power or for (winter) storage. Once configured, the BMS takes care of everything. All information is available at your fingertips. Verne can also remotely monitor the health of your lithium battery, so that we can contact you pro-actively in case something is not right.
Verne lithium batteries: Features
Verne lithium batteries are inherently safe, and do not run the risk of catching fire. They offer high performance and are lightweight at only one fifth of the weight of a traditional AGM, Gel or lead-acid battery. Compared to other battery types, a LiFePO4 battery is friendly for the environment. And with our ability to monitor the health of your batteries remotely, we are confident in offering 5 years warranty.
Safe
Verne produces LiFePO4 batteries (lithium iron phosphate or LFP). Contrary to lithium-ion, our lithium batteries based on LiFePO4 have no risk of catching fire. So you can safely sleep in your camper, boat or (tiny) house. Worry-free.
High Performance
Our lithium batteries can be fully charged and fully discharged in one hour. They last very long: > 4.000 cycles (more than 10 years). Better for the environment and better for your wallet, as the price per cycle is low. The low self-discharge (< 10% per year) is handy: no need to connect a charger off-season. Also no need to physically disconnect the battery off-season: the Verne Power App and BMS take care of that for you. Fully automatically.
Lightweight and compact
Lithium batteries have exceptional power density. Making it possible to fit a lot power in a lightweight and small battery. Verne lithium batteries are around 5 times lighter compared to AGM, gel batteries or lead-acid batteries with the same usable capacity. That is especially useful for those wanting to keep the weight of their camper under 3.500 Kg.
Environmentally friendly
AGM, gel and lead-acid batteries have a short lifespan and all contain both lead and acid. Manganese and cobalt are used in the production of traditional lithium(-ion) batteries. All those materials leave a significant environmental footprint.
Verne batteries use lithium iron phosphate or LiFePO4 as their cathode (the plus pole) material. These natural materials significantly reduce the environmental impact – and as a bonus are much safer.
5 year warranty
Standard warranty on our batteries is 2 years. If you allow us to monitor your batteries remotely, we extend this warranty to 5 years.
